Welcome!

I’m glad you are here. I want to use this first post to give in site into my life and who I am. I am a 29-year-old wife and mom. I have two beautiful children with a third due any day now.  I am originally from Texas and have lived here my whole life. My parents divorced when I was six years old, and that has shaped a lot of how I approach my own marriage and raising my children.

I met my amazing husband when we were 14 as freshmen in high school. We started dating in our junior year, and the rest is history. We have had our share of ups and downs and learned a lot as we have grown up together. We have tackled college, roommates, parents, buying homes, having kids, and daily life stress together. I truly feel like we have conquered life, and while we are still learning every day, we approach every situation with God and communication.

In my early 20s, I was very career-driven and never thought I would be where I am today. Shortly after Kyle and I were married, we had our first sweet baby girl, and the mom guilt was real when I went back to work. We made it a goal that I would eventually be able to stay at home with our kids. Four and a half years and one and a half kids later, the dream became a reality.

That is where this blog comes in. Through this transition, I have learned just how important your village is. I have also come to learn that a village comes from several different places and can mean different things.

I have 3 sisters who are moms, however, they do not live near me, a sister-in-law who lives several states away, and all my friends are full-time in the workforce. I am blessed to have my own mother and mother-in-law close by to lean on, however, they work full time as well.

This resulted in me being very lonely. Something I did not expect when taking on the journey.  There were a lot of days that I did not talk to another adult until my husband returned home. I had to find another outlet. I needed to build a community of people who were in the same stage of life as me. In doing this, I found a lot of moms are in the same boat. My goal with this blog is to bring the real aspects of motherhood to light and normalize the joys and struggles of being a homemaker.

It is not my goal to alienate working moms! I have been in those shoes, and if staying in the workforce is your goal, I am proud of you. That brings its own set of achievements and struggles, and I do not want to discount that.  If eventually becoming a stay-at-home mom is your goal, there will be posts about how my family did it that might be helpful for you.

So let’s gather at the table and talk!
